Liquor factories to close during MCO

KUALA LUMPUR: All liquor factories have been banned from operating during the Movement Control Order (MCO).

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the National Security Council (NSC) only approved the operations of factories producing food and beverages classified as basic necessities.

"Liquor factories and (products) are not listed under the (manufacturers of) basic necessities category.

"Hence the NSC has agreed that all liquor factories must halt operations immediately," he said in a statement today.
