GEORGE TOWN: Thirteen motorcycles at Block 3 of the Desa Mawar Flat in Lintang Kampung Melayu here were gutted in an early morning fire today.
The Paya Terubong fire and rescue station was alerted to the incident about 4.12am.
Operations commander Sharel Anuar Mawarday said when firemen arrived at the scene about 4.21am, they found that 13 motorcycles had been razed.
"The fire, which broke out at the parking lot, damaged 13 motorcycles which were parked there. We are still investigating the cause of the fire," he said.
Sharel said the team brought the fire under control about five minutes later and put it out completely at 4.32am.
Overhaul works wrapped up about 4.46am before the operation was called off.
No one was injured in the incident.
