Second phase of BKC aid to be disbursed from Thursday

KUALA LUMPUR: The Second Phase of the Bantuan Khas Covid-19 (BKC) aid payments involving RM300 million will be disbursed from Thursday (Nov 25) onwards.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the Phase Two payments of the BKC aid involved 700,000 household recipients, bachelors and senior citizens under the poor-income category.

The next round or Phase Three payments of the BKC aid involving RM1.2 billion, he said, will be disbursed according to schedule next month.

He said the third phase of the BKC aid payment will involve 3.8 million household recipients in the poor and B40 categories.

"I would like to stress here that the government is always aware and concerned with the grouses and woes faced by the people.

"With the BKC aid payments, the government hopes it can lessen the burdens of the people who are still reeling from the impact unleashed by Covid-19.

"To ensure the well-being of the people, the government is committed to continue ensuring aid would be disbursed effectively," said Ismail Sabri in a statement today.

He said the people can check the status of their application for the aid at the BKC portal at https://bkc.hasil.gov.my.

Information on the criteria of recipients eligible and amounts entitled under the aid as well as frequently asked question are also available on the portal.

BKC is part of the Pakej Perlindungan Rakyat dan Pemulihan Ekonomi (Pemulih) economic stimulus package rolled out by the government on June 28.

Phase One payments of the aid involving RM3.1 billion in allocation which benefited almost 10 million recipients had been disbursed in September.
