Kelantan assemblymen undergo home quarantine

KOTA BARU: Two Kelantan assemblymen have to undergo home-quarantine after they tested positive for Covid-19.

State Local Government, Health and Housing Committee chairman Dr Izani Husin said the two were Tanjong Mas (Rohani Ibrahim) and Tendong (Mohd Rozi Muhamad).

He added another assemblyman from Kemuning, Mohd Roseli Ismail was also undergoing self-quarantine.

"I'm not sure how many days they were quarantined but was told that the Kemuning assemblyman was undergoing self-quarantine after being identified as a close contact of his child who is positive for Covid-19.

"The other two were tested positive for the virus following recent tests. They are now undergoing self-quarantine at their respective homes," he said today.

Dr Izani said the three were also absent from yesterday's State Assembly sitting.

The Kelantan State Assembly sitting yesterday was adjourned two days earlier following the detection of cases among assemblymen.

Speaker Datuk Abdullah Ya'kub said the sitting was adjourned at around 11am to prevent the virus from spreading to others.

Abdullah said the state's 2022 Budget was passed without debate at the sitting before it was adjourned.
