TAMBUNAN: A boarding school student here has triggered an education cluster in the district.
The index case for the Jalan Kepayan Lama cluster is a symptomatic 18-year-old student who tested positive with a self test and Covid-19 RTK Antigen test.
"Screenings on close contacts in the hostel found 35 others are also positive.
"Further investigations by Sabah Health department showed the infection and spread of virus are limited to the students staying in the hostel," he said in a statement, adding those students are being isolated and given necessary treatment.
Today, Sabah has 213 cases - 209 with mild symptoms, while the rest are under Category 3.
There are 108 recoveries today while 761 are still getting treatment.
Thirty two patients require critical care.
