PAAB allocates RM471 million for water treatment plant projects in Kelantan

KOTA BARU: A total of RM471 million have been allocated by the Water Management Assets Berhad (PAAB) for the construction of 10 water treatment plants in Kelantan.

Its chairman Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali said the water treatment plants would be built in Semerak, Pasir Putih and scheduled to complete by 2026.

The others, he said would be in Chicha, Bukit Chupak and Tanjung Mas.

"The water treatment plants in Semerak are expected to benefit some 300,000 people in Pasir Putih as well as those in Bachok."

Khairuddin also said five mini water treatment plants would be built in Pengkalan Chepa, Bechah Mulong, Kampung Pengkalan Kubor, Kampung Laut and Kampung Paloh.

He was speaking to reporters after a meeting with state exco Datuk Azami Mohd Nor at the Darulnaim Complex here today.
