KOTA BARU: At least two students of SMK Melor here were injured and three others traumatised after the school's water tank burst today.
The incident occurred about 10am today near the school's pedestrian pathway.
Acting Kelantan Police Chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun confirmed the incident.
He said the five students were sent to Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital (HUSM) and a nearby clinic for treatment.
He added that police were investigating the incident.
Senior Education minister Datu Dr Radzi Jidin in his Facebook posting said all the students who were injured were rushed to hospital.
"I was informed about the incident soon after answering a question in Dewan Negara.
"I was told that several students were injured in the incident and they were immediately sent for treatment.
"I have directed the state Education Department to repair the water tank as soon as possible and ensure the school's facilities and infrastructure are in good condition," he added.
