MELAKA: Two flood relief centres have been opened in Alor Gajah following flash floods last night caused by continuous heavy rain since 5.30pm yesterday.
State floods management committee secretariat in a statement said as of 8am today, 29 victims from 10 families had been relocated to the relief centres in Balai Raya Kampung Gedik and Balai Raya Bukit Balai Durian Tunggal.
"Both centres were activated since 12.45am after five areas - Kampung Kuala Sungga Tebong, Kampung Orang Asli Hutan Percha, Kampung Gadek, Kampung Bukit Tambun and Kampung Bukit Balai were flooded."
All of the victims were evacuated by local authorities after the floods began to hit low-lying areas. -- BERNAMA
