BATANG KALI: On Friday (Dec 16), a landslide hit the Father's Organic Farm campsite here in the wee hours, when campers were sound asleep.
More than 90 people were at the place when disaster struck.
Since that day, updates on the incident have gripped the nation.
Search-and-rescue (SAR) efforts began almost immediately and intensified by the hour.
However, no one expected many casualties. Rescuers were optimistic about finding survivors. The death toll is now 24, with nine people still missing.
It is not yet known what triggered the landslide. The SAR mission led by the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department is ongoing.
