MPV catches fire, woman escapes unhurt

KUALA LUMPUR: A woman cheated death when she escaped her multipurpose vehicle (MPV) which caught fire at a petrol station today.

The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the victim escaped unscathed in the 8am fire.

The spokesman said a team from the Cyberjaya fire station responded to a distress call at 8.03am.

"Operations commander Sharel Mohamad informed that the fire that took place at the Petronas at the Kajang Dispersal Link Expressway involved an MPV.

"The car was 90 per cent destroyed and the driver, who was alone during the fire, managed to escape before the arrival of the rescue team."
