HULU SELANGOR: A woman lost her life when the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) she was driving was crushed by a falling tree on the Ulu Yam-Gombak Road, heading towards Ulu Yam, today.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Operations Centre head Zulfikar Jaffar said
they received the distress call at 6.14pm.
A team of five members, equipped with necessary tools from the Kuala Kubu Bharu Fire and Rescue Station, swiftly responded to the scene.
"On reaching the location, our personnel discovered a tree had collapsed onto a Perodua Alza MPV.
"They immediately began the arduous task of cutting the tree and extricating the victim," he said in a press statement today.
Zulfikar also said at 7.10pm, the victim was successfully extricated but was pronounced dead by the medical team.
