PANTAI REMIS: Two people were killed and three others injured in an accident involving a Perodua Kelisa and a workers' van on Jalan Beruas, near here, this morning.
The dead were identified as Fatimah Mohd Ali, 64, and Mohd Ibrahim Md Deram, 77, while the injured were Osman Uzmi Chulan, 70, and Fazlina Mohd Ibrahim, 53. All were travelling in the car.
It is understood that the unidentified woman driver of the van, who was also injured, was taken to hospital.
Pantai Remis Fire and Rescue Station chief Assistant Fire Superintendent Akmal Azizi Elias said firemen rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 9am.
"Two of the victims, who were trapped in the wreckage, were extricated by the firemen. However, they were confirmed dead at the scene."
