Three killed when car crashes into crane

KUALA LUMPUR: Three men were killed early today when a car rammed into a crane which was placed at the side of Jalan Syed Putra in Bukit Seputeh.

The dead were the driver of the vehicle and two men who were assigned to guard the crane.

A Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department operations centre spokesman said the department was informed of the incident at 3.46am.

"We immediately deployed 10 personnel and three engines from the Jalan Hang Tuah station to the scene.

"When we arrived at the location, we found that a vehicle had crashed into the crane which had been placed at the side of the road," he said in a statement.

The spokesman said the driver of the vehicle was found pinned in his seat and had to be extricated.

"The driver and the two security guards were all confirmed dead at the scene by medical personnel who had been sent to the crash. All three bodies were passed to police for further action," he said.
