MYAirline expediting refunds for customers

KUALA LUMPUR: MYAirline is expediting the refund process for the affected passengers, who have purchased tickets with the airline, following its unforeseen suspension of operations.

Its interim accountable executive, Datuk Seri Azharuddin Abdul Rahman said passengers are encouraged to provide their booking number (PNR) and e-mail at customercare@myairline.my.

"We are currently expediting the refund process and would like to kindly request your patience as we are handling a high volume of over 12,000 e-mails. MYAirline is also in the process of establishing a hotline to better assist our affected passengers," he said in a statement today.

He also gave his assurance that all MYairline personnel are still under full employment.

"We have not placed anyone on unpaid leave," he said.

Azharuddin also mentioned that they have received multiple interests and are currently evaluating the proposals.

"We will continue to provide updates to our valued passengers and related stakeholders.

"On behalf of MYAirline, we would like to express our deep regret about the recent event and how it has impacted all our passengers," he added.

MYAirline Sdn Bhd, which suspended its operations effective Thursday (Oct 12), said it is "exploring all avenues to reactivate its operations and fly the skies again."

The low-cost airline said it will continue to issue further updates when they are available.

They said that financial pressures have made it necessary to suspend operations pending the shareholder restructuring and recapitalisation of the airline.
