Abah in good health, says Zahid's daughter

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamid is in good health after undergoing a surgery on Thursday, his daughter Datuk Nurul Hidayah confirms today.

In a lengthy posting on her Instagram account, Nurul Hidayah, fondly known as Kak Long among her followers, also expressed gratitude to all the people who were concerned and prayed for her father's recovery.

"Alhamdulillah (Thanks God), Abah (Zahid) is in good health after undergoing an operation on Thursday, which was supposed to have been conducted earlier than that day due to time constraint. But that is Abah.

"He always put the interest of others above his own interest. He is always the person with high fighting spirits but he forgot that he is the one who has to embrace a healthy lifestyle - balance diet, engage in recreational activities and have enough rest.

"May Allah grant him all the blessings for his sacrifice and services to the religion, the people and the nation at large," read the social media posting.

Nurul Hidayah, however, did not elaborate why Zahid had to undergo an operation.

In the same posting, Nurul Hidayah reprimanded irresponsible quarters who she labelled as people who 'terpaling tahu' (knows everything) and spread unverified news about the health of her father.

"I just want to advise all, please do not take lightly when spreading news about the health condition and death of a person.

"Do not simply pray for bad things on others. Do not share and spread unverified news and information.

"What goes around comes back around," the Wanita exco member said.
