Golok river in Rantau Panjang rise above its warning level

RANTAU PANJANG: Non-stop heavy rain in Kelantan resulted in the Golok river to breach its warning level this morning.

As of 8.15am, the water level at the river was at 8.38m which is 0.38m above its warning mark of 8m. The danger level for the river is 9m.

The other rivers in the state were above their alert marks.

The second day of flood in Kelantan also saw the number of victims continuing to increase, with three districts affected.

The four districts are Pasir Puteh, Machang and Bachok.

As at 8.15am, a total of 405 victims have been evacuatwd at seven relief centres.

The relief centres were SK Dalam Rhu with 208 victims, SK Sungai Petai (64), SMK Beris Panchor (39), SK Wakaf Raja and SK Jelawat (30 each), Complex Kamil hall (29) and SK Pak Roman (five).

The victims were from 104 families and have been evacuated to the relief centres in stages since Sunday morning.
