2022 AG's Report: Poor management of coaches by NSC

KUALA LUMPUR: The 2022 Auditor-General's Report found that there was poor management of coaches by the National Sports Council (NSC).

Auditor General Datuk Wan Suraya Wan Mohd Radzi said that the criteria regarding the salary increase rate could not be determined because the criteria in the existing guidelines were not applied.

In addition, the results of the preliminary discussions were also not documented.

The Audit Review found that five of the 36 samples of Podium Programme coaches had received salary increases ranging from 10 per cent to 44 per cent with an increase rate of between RM450 and RM2,456 for the period from 2020 to 2022.

"The approval of different percentage increases without clear criteria can contribute to dissatisfaction among local coaches.

"The coach's management is less satisfactory than the aspect of salary increase," she said.
