Booth to facilitate on-the-Spot applications for tertiary studies at Madani celebration receives over 100 applications

KUALA LUMPUR: The Higher Education Ministry hopes that the Madani government's One-Year Anniversary Programme in Bukit Jalil National Stadium could attract more individuals to apply for tertiary education.

When meeting at the booth, the ministry's spokesperson said the ministry had also opened the application process for community colleges and polytechnics since yesterday.

"Since opening it (the application) at the programme yesterday, we have received at least 100 applications.

"Those who apply to enrol in polytechnics and community colleges will be given the offer letters as soon as they apply.

"The public (who wants to apply) will only need to bring official documents, such as their identification card as well as the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) certificate to register," said the spokesperson, adding that five offer letters for polytechnics were issued, yesterday.

At the same time, the spokesperson said 24,500 intakes were also available at polytechnics, community colleges and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).

Of the total, 24,000 intakes were through direct offers for diploma and certificate programmes at selected polytechnics or community colleges.

"Another 500 intakes are available in five pre-diploma programmes in UiTM, particularly for the B40 groups.

"However, these are not subjected to the enrollment for other public higher learning institutions."
