Gridlock alert: Klang Valley hit by series of accidents, delays on MRR2 and KL-Karak Highway

KUALA LUMPUR: A series of accidents unfolded on major highways in the Klang Valley today as traffic congestion increased throughout the morning.

According to Astro Radio Traffic's Facebook page, a collision involving three vehicles occurred near the Ampang Lotus flyover at 4pm, causing slow-moving traffic on the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) from Pandan Perdana to Ampang Hilir.

Earlier on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak highway, a lorry accident at the entrance to Genting Highlands blocked both the right and left lanes.

Subsequently, the uphill lane from the Gombak direction at the Genting Highlands entrance was temporarily closed.

Commuters were advised to return to the Genting Sempah rest area and then ascend to Genting Highlands.

In addition, the North-South Expressway faced challenges due to two separate accidents as of 3.55 pm.

The first incident occurred at KM426.2 in the southbound lane from Bukit Tagar to Bukit Beruntung, blocking the left lane and causing slow traffic.

Simultaneously, another accident was reported at KM433.4 in the southbound direction between Sungai Buaya and Rawang.

Fortunately, there were no lane blockages, but traffic was moving at a sluggish pace.
