KUANTAN: Two people died after their car collided with a trailer near Kampung Sungai Miang, Pekan, here tonight.
A spokesman for the Pahang Fire and Rescue Department said they were alerted to the emergency at 8.22pm before a team from the Pekan and Nenasi stations were deployed to the scene.
He said the incident involved a Perodua Kancil, which snapped in half and caught fire after colliding with a trailer.
"One victim, a man, was flung out of the car due to the impact. The other victim, a woman, was pinned inside the car and burnt to death," he said in a statement.
Both victims died at the scene.
The driver of the trailer escaped unhurt.
