Flood update: 6,281 victims as of 8am in Terengganu

KUALA TERENGGANU: A total of 6,281 people are reported to be still affected by the third wave of floods that hit Terengganu since last Sunday.

As of 8am, all victims from 1,756 families are in 59 temporary relief centres across eight districts.

Based on the Terengganu Disaster Management Committee Secretariat report, 2,849 victims from 785 families are in 31 temporary relief centres in Dungun.

Following that is Hulu Terengganu, recording 1,666 victims from 497 families taking shelter in 10 relief centres.

In Kemaman, 843 victims (231 families) are in six relief centres, while three relief centres in Kuala Nerus are open to accommodate 401 victims (108 families).

Meanwhile, 210 victims from 55 families sought refuge in three relief centres in Kuala Terengganu, and 30 families involving 125 residents were placed in four relief centres in Setiu.

Additionally, 121 victims from 31 families are accommodated in the relief centres at Merchang National Secondary School, Marang.

In Besut, 66 victims from 19 families are in the Kampung Belaoh Open Hall.
