Bella's family surprised on the release of boyfriend

BATU PAHAT: The police decision of releasing the missing Mila Sharmila Samsusah's boyfriend has raised concerns among the missing woman's family members as efforts to locate her remains unsuccessful.

Her brother, Norhisham, said they were surprised when informed about the release of his sister's 24-year-old boyfriend.

"We're disappointed, it's as if there's no justice for us, even though all we want is to meet Bella, who still hasn't surfaced at this point.

"Besides, he was the last person seen with Bella before she was reported missing the next day. We don't know the outcome of this case," he said when met today.

The man was released on police bail at around 6pm yesterday after being remanded since Dec 25.

Meanwhile, another mystery arose when the police asked Norhisham about an individual driving a Perodua Aruz multi-purpose vehicle (MPV).

Norhisham said the police inquired about this after Bella's boyfriend informed them that she was taken in the MPV after being dropped off in front of a tomyam shop on Jalan Kenanga.

"They (police) asked me if I knew Bella's male friend (who drives the Perodua Aruz). According to the report made by her boyfriend, he mentioned Bella getting into that MPV.

"I told them I didn't know, and upon checking through CCTV (closed-circuit television), there was no movement of the specific vehicle.

"We're puzzled if it's fabricated or if something is being hidden," he said.

He also believes Bella's male friend was the last person seen with her on the night of Dec 14 before she went missing the following day.

"My intuition suggests someone is doing something to my sister. However, we can't pinpoint who that might be.

"Now, we have to wait for the investigation report, which should be handed to us today (after 14 days) from the initial police report (made on Dec 16)," he said.

Bella's boyfriend, who was supposed to be remanded until today, was released on police bail yesterday due to health reasons.

The man was detained to assist investigations under Section 365 of the Penal Code for abduction.

Bella's disappearance remains a mystery after she went out with her boyfriend at 11.50pm to the laundromat.

However, they allegedly did not go to the laundromat but diverted elsewhere, adding that the unwashed clothes they took on the night of the incident were returned to Bella's house the following day.
