Azam Baki's 2024 vision: MACC to unleash anti-leakage crusade [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) top graft buster, Tan Sri Azam Baki, has expressed his hope of reducing fund leakages to support the country's overall economy.

In a New Year's video message, the chief commissioner outlines his determination to ensure that MACC remains pertinent in 2024, emphasising key areas of focus to maintain effectiveness and contribute positively to the nation.

"Beginning 2024, there are several focuses and areas that I would like to prioritise to ensure that MACC continues to remain relevant and effective with actions that continue to help the country.

"This is not only to achieve a zero-corruption country but also to reduce the leakage of funds as well as to strengthen the country's economy," he stated.

He also advised all MACC officers to adapt to the evolving landscape by upgrading their skills to meet new demands.

"To MACC officers, remember that every year we will face various challenges, crises, and new work demands that would call for changes in the way we work, think, and act.

"So, it is very important for us to change, to explore the new, forgo the old, and fix the wrong.

"Let us increase our integrity, skills, and knowledge so that at the same time, we will achieve the mission and vision of MACC," he added.
