RM2,000 bonus for Terengganu civil servants

KUALA TERENGGANU: The state government announced a bonus of RM2,000 for more than 14,457 state civil servants this year.

State Government Secretary, Tengku Seri Bijaya Raja, Datuk Seri Tengku Farok Hussin Tengku Abdul Jalil said the payment of bonuses to civil servants involving a total allocation of approximately RM28.9 million will be done in accordance with the recommendations of the Federal Government.

The bonus payments of RM2,000 to all civil servants in the state will be in March.

"We are aware that many people are waiting for the announcement of the bonus, ... we have already made a decision as recommended by the Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar that the awarding of the bonus is an administrative matter.

"By right, we comply with the federal government's recommendation of RM2,000 per civil servant, and we have decided that the payment will be made in March according to the government circular," he said.

Earlier, Tengku Farok officiated the Central Database Hub (PADU) with Civil Servants, at the state level at Wisma Darul Iman, today.

Last November, Dr Ahmad Samsuri who is also a Member of Parliament for Kemaman when presenting the 2024 Budget of RM1.860 billion did not announce the awarding of bonuses to civil servants.

It is understood that the main reason Dr Ahmad Samsuri did not announce the awarding of bonuses when presenting the 2024 budget and left it to administrative affairs was due to the Kemaman Parliament By-Election (PRK) campaign on December 2.
