Bella's burial draws hundreds in Batu Pahat after alleged murder

BATU PAHAT: The remains of Mila Sharmilah Samsusah, 32, who was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend last month, have been buried at the Banang Jaya Muslim cemetery today.

Her body was taken to the cemetery after the `solat jenazah (prayers for the dead)' at the Jamek Dato Bentara Luar Mosque. The body arrived at the mosque at 4.47pm.

Accompanying the victim's body was her sister, Norhisham.

Approximately 200 people attended to perform the funeral prayers and pay their final respects to Mila, also known as Bella.

The atmosphere in the mosque compound was sombre, with Bella's entire family dressed in black.

Bella's boyfriend, Mohammad Haikal Mahfuz, 24, was charged in the magistrate's court in Batu Pahat with the murder.

The victim was allegedly murdered between 11am and 5:30am on Dec 14 and 15 before her body was discarded in an abandoned rental house in Kampung Batu 7, Tongkang Pechah.
