KUALA LUMPUR: Harimau Malaya superfan Derrick Gan received a pleasant surprise upon returning to Malaysia from the AFC Asian Cup in Qatar yesterday.
Derrick was gifted a Modenas Karisma scooter worth RM5,400 by Modenas chief executive officer Roslan Roskan at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
The 30-year-old said he would put the scooter to good use.
"I did not expect to receive a motorcycle after coming home from the Malaysia-South Korea match," Derrick told Astro Awani.
"I will put this scooter to good use. I would like to thank Modenas and ERA radio for surprising me on my return.
"It is a memorable experience which I will never forget. It also happens to be my birthday tomorrow (today)."
He was also given the opportunity to speak to national team goalkeeper Syihan Hazmi via a video call.
Derrick's story went viral last week after he sold his motorcycle to raise funds to support the Harimau Malaya team competing in Qatar.
