SETIU: The sudden appearance of hundreds of worms overnight in Kampung Merang, here, has raised questions among residents.
Sakinah Zamri, 26, said dozens of worms were covering her house's yard as she cleaned the area the day before yesterday.
"I saw many worms on the ground, as if migrating from one place to another. Last Friday was a bit hot, so I thought it was because the worms were feeling the heat, and their appearance was just temporary, but it has continued until today.
"This is the first time I've seen this, and my parents are also surprised because it has never happened before. If it were one or two worms, it would be normal, but when many come out of the ground and move to other areas every day, it raises questions.
"We are also worried that it might be a sign of something bad about to happen," she said, adding that the species of worms she observed were long and became active when touched.
