JELUTONG: The Seri Delima service centre, in partnership with Seameo Recsam, has launched a pioneering 3D printing workshop programme tailored for primary and secondary school students in Seri Delima, Buletin Mutiara reported.
This initiative is set to revolutionise learning by embedding hands-on experiences with 3D printing technology, aiming to nurture creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking among young learners.
During the programme's inauguration at Seameo Recsam in Jelutong, centre director Dr Azman Jusoh emphasised the significance of such workshops in equipping students with vital skills for a future dominated by technology and innovation.
"These workshops are designed to foster an interest in STEM education, laying the groundwork for our students to become problem-solvers and innovators," he said.
Seri Delima assemblyman Connie Tan Hooi Peng commended the collaborative effort, highlighting the transformative potential of 3D printing in the educational landscape.
"By providing our students with access to 3D printing resources, we are opening up a world of possibilities for creative exploration and innovation.
"This initiative not only supports STEM education but also prepares our youth for the challenges of tomorrow's workforce," she said.
The workshops, which will run from February to March, anticipate the participation of 80 students from various schools across Seri Delima. This endeavour is supported by notable entities like Tech Dome Penang, Penang STEM, and Fabbxible Technology, ensuring a rich learning experience facilitated by seasoned trainers from Seameo Recsam and Penang Tech Dome.
The programme aims to elevate awareness and interest in STEM education among students while encouraging the use of Tinkercard software for model designing.
"Our goal is to harness the power of collaboration between educational institutions and technology partners to inspire a new generation of thinkers and makers," Azman added.
