Kg Likas to host KK Cleanup Day 2.0 in March

KOTA KINABALU: Residents of Kampung Likas are set to participate in the KK Cleanup Day 2.0 event, taking place on March 24.

As announced by Kota Kinabalu City Hall in a Facebook post on Feb 21, the cleanup activity is scheduled to commence at 7am and conclude by 11am at Dewan Serbaguna Likas.

This event is part of an ongoing effort to maintain cleanliness and promote environmental responsibility within the community.

The initiative is organised by the local authorities, who have planned several activities aimed at waste management and community education.

The KK Cleanup Day 2.0 event will include public area cleaning, informational walkabouts regarding waste management, and distribution of educational materials.

Additionally, as part of a unique approach to pest control that encourages non-toxic methods, there will be a provision for purchasing captured rats at a nominal fee of RM1 each, dead or alive.

The event is open to all residents of Kota Kinabalu, with a particular call to those living in Kampung Likas to join the effort.

Individuals seeking more information about the event can visit the KK Bersih & Hijau social media pages or contact the Solid Waste Management Department directly.
