Motorist dies in Penang Bridge crash

GEORGE TOWN: A man was killed after his car skidded and rammed into a divider at Km3.7 of the Penang Bridge past midnight today (March 5).

Mohammad Fazri Mohd Rosli, 28, died at the scene due to injuries.

Photographs of the mangled wreckage have since found their way on social media.

Prai Fire and rescue station was alerted to the incident about 12.20am.

Operations officer Shahrul Munawer Taharen said when they arrived at the scene, they found the mangled Toyota Vios.

"Upon checking, we found a man pinned to the driver's seat. We managed to extricate him at 12.44am.

"Paramedics, who arrived at the scene, confirmed he had died," he said today (March 5).

Shahrul said the case had been handed over to the police for further action.
