Woman who claimed she was sexually harrassed by 50 men during a walk, urged to lodge police report

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have urged a woman who claimed she was sexually harassed by 50 men during a 30-minute walk in Kuala Lumpur to come forward and file a report.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid said as of now, they have not received any report regarding the claims made by former financial journalist Christine Hill on the X app.

"We urge the woman to come forward and file a police report about the incident," he said when contacted today.

Allaudeen, however, expressed his doubt about such claims, describing them as highly incredible.

"It is highly incredible for 50 men to attempt to grope her in a single journey."

Allaudeen asserted that Kuala Lumpur is a perfectly safe city.

"People from all walks of life, regardless of their backgrounds, are safe in the city. Please do not tarnish the image of Kuala Lumpur."

Hill made the claim in response to a post on X about an alleged gang rape case in India.

In her response, Hill stated that sexual harassment occurs not only in India but also cited Kuala Lumpur as an example.

She claimed she lived in Malaysia for eight years and was constantly harassed.

In her post, Hill said she had walked from Central Market to 'Shanghai La' one day and 'whacked' about 50 men who she said had tried to grab her breasts.

She went on to say that was when she realised she had to move. Hill later moved to Singapore.

She also mentioned that she had raised the incident with the most senior political leaders, indicating it was bad PR for the city.

"They had a name for it and just laughed."
