Free haircut programme brightens back-to-school preparations in Balingian

BALINGIAN: To welcome the new school term, a 'Back to School' free haircut programme was recently organised across seven zones within the Balingian constituency, the Sarawak Public Communications Unit reported.

This programme catered to both primary and secondary school students, ensuring they return to school with fresh trims.

A total of 16 barbers volunteered for the initiative, serving 457 students, an effort that significantly eased the parents' preparations for the new school term.

Spearheaded by the Youth Movement of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera (PBB) Balingian, Councillor Ardyman Henry Matan highlighted the programme's substantial impact on the local community.

"The Balingian Youth Movement and PBB Balingian's Youth Wing are committed to serving the community by carrying out such programmes in the Balingian area as part of the back-to-school preparations," he said.

PBB Balingian Youth Movement Secretary Hafizzul Abdul Halim noted the positive community response to the programme and the plans for its future enhancement. He echoed the parents' hopes for making it an annual event, emphasising its value in readying students for school.

"Considering the feedback from parents, who hope this becomes an annual initiative, the Youth Movement of the Balingian Branch greatly aids parents in ensuring their children are prepared for school," he said.
