Kesedar receives RM9.2 million for 36 projects

TANAH MERAH: The government has allocated about RM9.2 million to the South Kelantan Development Authority (Kesedar) to carry out 36 projects this year.

Its chairman Datuk Zawawi Othman said the projects include the upgrading and repair works of public facilities in Kesedar areas.

Other projects were related to water supply to all villages under Kesedar's jurisdiction.

"On behalf of Kesedar, I would like to thank the deputy prime minister who is also Rural and Regional Development Minister for this huge allocation.

"The projects would not only benefit the Kesedar communities areas but also other villagers" he said in a speech at the Majlis Santunan Kasih Ramadan at Masjid Batang Merbau here today.

The programme was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Also present were Deputy Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Rubiah Wang: Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad and Felcra Bhd chairman Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub.

Zawawi said the government had also allocated Kesedar about RM1.5 million for other rural development projects.
