Nepali man found dead near Sungai Klang weir

KUALA LUMPUR: A body of a Nepalese man was found near the weir of Sungai Klang at Jalan Kerapu 17/52 in Section 17, Shah Alam, yesterday.

Shah Alam district police Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the police were informed by an individual who reported finding a body floating near the weir at 11.56 am.

"Through a copy of a passport found with the body, it is believed that the individual is a Nepalese.

"The body was found fully clothed and was in a prone position," he said in a statement, today.

He added that further examination by the Forensic Department revealed no signs of struggle or other injuries as thecause of death.

"The body has been sent to Shah Alam for post-mortem examination today at 9am to determine the cause of death. Meanwhile, the case is being investigated under sudden death report (SDR)."

Mohd Iqbal also asked the public with information about the incident to contact investigating officer Inspector Mohd Shahrul Bakhri at 012-3630512 to assist in the investigation.
