Fahmi tells Wan Saiful to meet MACC over claims against 2 Bersatu MPs

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan should lodge a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over claims that he was approached by two members of parliament to switch support in favour of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the MACC was the best enforcement agency to investigate the claims made by the Tasek Gelugor MP.

"The MACC is the best avenue and he must meet the commission over his claims.

"Unfortunately, he thinks otherwise.

"Having that said, I still believe that it is necessary for him to meet the MACC officers and provide details on what had allegedly happened," said Fahmi, who is the spokesperson for the unity government.

During the Dewan Rakyat sitting yesterday, Wan Saiful claimed that he had been lured by another two MPs to influence his behaviour including in speeches delivered in Parliament.

He identified them as two among the six Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) MPs who have declared their support for Anwar and the unity government.
