ALOR SETAR: A 59-year-old woman was found dead in her home in Taman Inang, here, last night.
The woman was found lying on a prayer mat and is believed to have been inside the locked house in an unconscious state.
Alor Star Fire and Rescue Station deputy chief Ahmad Naufal Abdullah said they received a call about the incident of a victim trapped in the house at 8.46pm.
The fire brigade, upon arriving at the scene, found the victim inside the house unconscious.
The rescue team were forced to break the door open.
"The woman was confirmed dead by a medical officer from the Health Ministry who arrived at the scene shortly after," he said last night.
Ahmad Naufal said her body was then handed over to the police for further action.
