'My honeymoon is over, now go catch the bees', King tells MACC

KUALA LUMPUR: Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, says corruption remains the biggest threat to the country.

In a Facebook post, His Majesty said fighting corruption will be a priority during his reign.

Sultan Ibrahim said he emphasised this to Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief commissioner, Tan Sri Azam Baki during an audience this morning.

"As I have said before this. My honeymoon is over, now go catch the bees," he said after receiving an update on developments in MACC.

His Majesty also presented Azam with a jar of honey as a symbol of the end of his "honeymoon" after ascending to the throne.

Last month, Sultan Ibrahim said he was ready to implement his true style of rule after the end of the "honeymoon" period.

Before ascending to the throne, Sultan Ibrahim warned that he would come down hard on corruption, saying he would "hunt all the corrupt people".
