New bridge in Kg Takutan enhances daily commute for Ranau Residents

RANAU: The residents of Kampung Takutan can now utilise the new 90-metre long suspension bridge that spans across Sungai Mokodou, enhancing daily community activities in the area, Sabah First Info reported.

The bridge was officially opened by the Deputy Chief Minister and Kundasang assemblyman Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam on April 15.

According to Joachim, the new suspension bridge was completed in October last year and is now fully operational, including utility for agricultural activities.

"This bridge replaces the previous one which was destroyed during a major flood in 2022, cutting off village connectivity," he said during his address to the media after the bridge's inauguration ceremony.

In total, two new suspension bridges have been built and two others repaired, all of which have been completed.
