2 stalls razed, including one selling famous Penang nasi tomato

GEORGE TOWN: Two stalls, including one selling the famous nasi tomato in Batu Lanchang here, were razed in a fire this morning.

No injuries were reported in the 10.37am incident.

State Fire and Rescue Department commander A'azelan Hassan said firemen found the two stalls almost burnt to the ground when they arrived at the scene.

"Both stalls were gutted about 70 per cent. The fire also damaged three motorcycles in the vicinity. A Yamaha NVX was 60 per cent burnt, a Honda EX5 was five per cent burnt and a SYM E-bonus was totally destroyed," he said.

A'azelan said the fire was brought under control about 10.52am and completely put out at 10.59am.

"No injuries were reported. The amount of losses and cause of fire is still under investigation," he added.
