KUALA LUMPUR: Police are tracking down the rider of an electric tricycle, who was captured in a viral video on social media allegedly endangering other road users in Bandar Tasik Puteri, Rawang.
Gombak district police chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said an investigation was launched into the case after police received a 30-second video clip that went viral on social media at midnight.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the micromobility vehicle was being ridden on the rightmost lane from Persiaran Tan Sri Low Yow Chuan to Persiaran Lembah Hijau 3 in Bandar Tasik Puteri.
"Such an act can pose a danger not only to the micromobility rider but also to other road users," he said in a statement.
He also called on the public with information on the case to contact investigation officer Sergeant Mazlan Mohd Arifin at 012-4551413 or the Gombak district police operations centre at 03-61262222.
