KUALA LUMPUR: The sight of a man performing the traditional and symbolic Maori dance, the Haka, when sending off his "brother" at Terminal 2 of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (klia2) has not only caught the attention of passers-by at the premises but also social media users after a clip on the spirit of the brotherhood went viral in the social media.
Posted by TikTok user, Yen SK, the 53-second clip has received more than 76,000 likes as well as nearly 2,000 shares since it was uploaded on the social media platform.
The clip shows a man dressed in a hoodie, black shorts and a matching cap performing the Haka dance at the centre of the departure hall of klia2 in front of another man, in view of all those present at the premises.
The man was seen giving a handshake and a hug to the other person after he finished the dance before both of them parted ways. Loud claps were also heard from spectators at the departure hall at the end of the video.
The Haka or also known as the Maori posture dance involves the entire body to move in vigorous rhythmic movements, which sometimes include swaying, slapping of the chest and thighs, stamping, and gestures of stylized violence.
The post received 818 comments including those who were touched by the bond between the two men, presumably siblings.

Tiktok user, @Sha Sha translated the display between the two brothers as "a whole level of deep message saying you (have to) be strong bro (brother)".
