#NSTviral: Couple sells nasi lemak after husband quits fast food job in solidarity with Palestine

KUALA LUMPUR: A man decided to quit his job at a fast food restaurant and started a nasi lemak business in Taman Alai Indah, Melaka with his wife recently.

The reason he left the job where he had worked for over five years was to express solidarity for the Palestinian people.

The effort is part of the ongoing nationwide boycott of foreign companies in the country.

Their effort earned praise from the netizens after the matter was posted on their TikTok page 'shcateringmelaka' recently with the video garnering over 300,000 views so far.

They also received overwhelming support from the customers where she started off only selling five packs on the first day and 21 packs on second day.

The video went viral and garnered the attention where they were able to sell almost 100 packs within forty minutes.

"Thanks to the doa and support," she posted on her Facebook account Shafiya Lyanis

TikTok user TicerPASTRY said that her husband too quit from the same fast food company.

"Alhamdulillah (life) is calmer. Let Allah judge our Jihad. Good luck sis," she said.

The netizens also offered prayers for their sincere effort in the name of solidarity for the Muslim brothers and sisters in Palestine who are facing a war there.

"With the sacrifice of your husband for Islam, may the door of sustenance for your family be widened and all matters be made easier," said TikTok user AlaCarte.
