#NSTviral: Man disappears without paying petrol bill, sparks a search

KUALA LUMPUR: A man from Seremban is being sought after leaving a petrol station without paying his bill, despite having filled his car's tank.

A viral Facebook post on the Seremban page brought widespread attention to the incident, detailing how the individual had persuaded station staff to accept a QR code payment transfer in lieu of traditional cash.

Unfortunately, they fell for it, and the man is nowhere to be found.

"This individual pledged to settle the bill through a QR code but vanished without honouring his commitment once his tank was full.

"The lapse in judgement by the staff led to them footing the bill. We appeal to the individual to return to the station and settle his payment."

The alleged incident unfolded at a petrol station near Jalan Rasah, Seremban, prompting the owner to take proactive measures.

The petrol station displayed a prominent notice outlining new payment protocols in response to the incident.

"We will dispense fuel based on the exact amount paid by the customer. Please ensure the payment exceeds the anticipated volume for those opting to fill it out.

"Any surplus can be reclaimed upon completion," the notice read.

Numerous social media users demand that the petrol station owner file a police report, urging authorities to take legal action against the man.

"Filing a police report is necessary; this is essentially theft," said @Velary Velayathan.

"Appearances can be deceiving; he may look gentlemanly, but his actions are that of a fraudster," commented @Poovaneswary Suppiah.
