#NSTviral: 'Sorry boss, we're going to be late. These elephants won't let us pass!' [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: While many people may have various excuses for being late to work, two colleagues traveling along Jalan Kuala Tahan-Jalan Bukit Awan in Pahang may perhaps have the most uncommon reason for their lateness — a herd of elephants blocking the road.

In a video that has since gone viral, the pair can be heard apologising to their boss for not being able to get to work on time.

"How are we supposed to get to work? These elephants don't seem to want to let us pass through," one of the two is heard saying.

The elephants are also seen charging at the men and the car, while they try to reverse the vehicle, disappearing from the elephants' sight.

The man is also heard saying that the elephants were fierce.

The video of this incident has been making its rounds on social media, drawing humorous comments for the post and the duo's actions.

After waiting for some time for the elephants to make way, the two men decided to take a risk and the driver stepped on the accelerator, passing the herd at speed.

One of the large mammals gave chase for a short distance, but the men managed to make it past safely, though one of the men is heard saying that his heart was racing.

Both men then thank God for making it through safely.

The video, posted by "joe invisible grill" with the caption "hati-hati gajah mengamuk", has been viewed thousands of times and received hundreds of comments.

One user named "Kecikkk" wrote: "Next time, I can also use the same excuse for being late to work.

Another, "AnwarRosni" said: "The most reasonable excuse.

Meanwhile, "Remaja Purba" wrote: "Who won't get angry if you simply pass without pay toll."
