KUALA LUMPUR: A woman was left frustrated after discovering the doughnuts she bought from a Bachok vendor were just 'burger buns dipped in icing with a hole in the middle'.
She recounted here bad experience purchasing the doughnuts in a recent viral post on Facebook.
"I went to an expo in Bachok…I saw the doughnuts were exceptionally attractive with their colourful icing and topping.
"So I proceeded to get a strawberry-flavoured doughnut for my child but it turned out to be a burger bun. Yes! A burger bun dipped in chocolate!."
Frustrated, Fatimah went back to the vendor to voice her displeasure with her purchase.
"The vendor then explained that it was not doughnuts, but instead just chocolate-dipped bread.
"If it was bread, please sell it as bread and not doughnut…RM3 for a chocolate-dipped bread?"
Fatimah also called out the vendor for not being truthful in conducting her business.
"It's frustrating to see dishonest vendors like this. Please don't do this to other people, your earnings won't be blessed," she wrote.
The post prompted reactions from netizens calling out the dishonest practice.
Shakir Rahman commented: "Perhaps the vendor thought that if there's a hole in the middle, it's considered a doughnut."
Another user, Khairun Nisa said even those who are not vendors know what 'proper' doughnuts look like, chiding the vendor for not being truthful.
