#NSTviral: Woman disappointed with 'slimy' bazaar chicken rice

KUALA LUMPUR: A woman took to social media to express her disappointment about the stale chicken rice bought to break fast.

In a video shared on X, the woman showed the condition of the rice, which appeared slimy.

"I swear, this is how mum bought this chicken rice at the bazaar. I'm just about to eat the rice and see... it's slimy," she said.

She criticised some traders' profit-driven behaviour during Ramadan.

"Why do you run your business like this? It's so disappointing. If this happened to poor people, it would be so disappointing to eat something like this."

Many netizens expressed sympathy about the woman's situation and criticised traders who prioritised profit.

@suffian_khair said: "More and more people are mistreating others and focusing only on making money. It's disheartening. You expect to ease your fasting hunger but encounter this kind of behaviour instead."

@heavenhinata said: "Such a downer, isn't it? Already hungry, you end up with this kind of disappointment after buying food. It's even worse if it's pricey. May God condemn these insincere traders. Traders always seem too preoccupied with their business."

@kinoee2 said: "If it were me, I'd demand a refund from the seller the next day. I've had the unfortunate experience of buying fruit cocktails that turned out to be stale twice."

One netizen shared her experience of having food poisoning caused by eating stale food she had bought.

"Here I am, enduring my second day off work due to food poisoning from eating coconut jelly. It's absolute torture."
