#NSTviral: Family's thoughtful gesture at Terengganu restaurant goes viral, earns praise

KUALA LUMPUR: A family of four has garnered the praise of netizens after their heartwarming display of courtesy and consideration in exemplifying a commendable habit after dining at a restaurant in Kerteh, Terengganu.

The restaurant took to Facebook to praise the family after they had neatly stacked and cleaned their table after having their buka puasa.

"Arriving just before the time for breaking their fast, the family descended from the platform and hastened to eat their meal.

"Despite the late arrival, their dishes arrived post the call to Maghrib prayer, they were graciously offered water and dates.

"However, the noteworthy part of their visit unfolded after they had finished eating. Taking it upon themselves to tidy up, they neatly stacked and arranged the plates and drink containers they had used," the restaurant wrote.

The restaurant said the family had also thoughtfully set aside unused utensils and crockery and any remaining food was consolidated into a single container.

"The act of consideration, though not obligatory, deeply touched the staff at Nohana Ikan Bakar Kerteh.

"At a time when their workload is intensified by full bookings daily, compounded by the challenges of Ramadan, such gestures are invaluable. Some staff even postpone their breaking fast to ensure all patrons are served promptly," it added.

The post by the restaurant, which has since been liked more than 19,000 times and shared close to 1,000 times, also saw positive reactions from netizens, commending the simple yet noble act of courtesy.

User Azri Khairol said: "Let's hope that there are more people like this. What we want for the younger generations is to embody such good manners."

"When I used to work at a restaurant, I was always grateful to have customers like this. And now, when I go to eat at any restaurant, I would do the same too. When we help ease others' work, surely ours will be eased as well," Adinda LongFieyka commented.
