#NSTviral: Niqab-clad mother inspires netizens with remarkable run alongside son in cross-country event

KUALA LUMPUR: A niqab-clad mother has captured the admiration of netizens as she effortlessly ran alongside her son during a cross-country event at his school.

The 1.27-second video clip, originally shared on the Viral Media Johor Facebook page and credited to Adam Hawa Butik, showcases the woman, known only as Nur, providing words of encouragement to her son as they navigate the course together.

Despite the challenging terrain, Nur appeared entirely at ease in her attire, displaying a level of comfort and professionalism that left viewers in awe.

Observers noted Nur's impeccable running form and unwavering stamina throughout the race, with no signs of fatigue or discomfort despite the niqab.

The familiarity of the teachers managing the event hinted at Nur's active involvement in her son's school community.

Netizens flooded the comments section with praise for Nur's remarkable feat.

One Facebook user, Yang Dayang, commended her strong stamina and fitness, contrasting it humorously with her own struggles to attend similar events.

"Wow, this mother is the best! Strong stamina, fit body. I've tried to go watch my child's cross-country event several times, but end up just staying at home. Unfit and sluggish, let alone thinking about running. All I can do is send prayers from home. I really wish to go watch one day, huhu."

Others, like Zairatul Aznil Alias, highlighted Nur's role as a mentor to her son, inspiring him to excel through her own example.

Nur's presence at such events was not new to some. Commenter Izzy Al-Yahya recalled encountering her at previous running events, noting her relaxed demeanor and impressive speed, even while wearing her niqab.

"I once saw her at Bandar Bukit Raja, she parked next to my car. She ran so effortlessly, really fast, even though she was wearing a niqab. Her car was filled with stickers from all the running events she's participated in." she wrote.

Meanwhile, Wahab Saripan said: "May Allah bless the hard work of this family... Ameen... It's rare to see... Nevertheless, this is among the best efforts a mother can make for her children... Keep up the challenging effort of educating your children, the journey is still long..."
