Azmin tells PKR members to work as a team, set aside differences

SEBERANG JAYA: PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali has urged all party members to close ranks and work as a team to face the upcoming 14th general election.

He said while there may be differences within the party, all that should be set aside in the face of the upcoming election.

“The people are watching us closely to see whether we can deliver on our promises to serve them. They do not want to see us fighting.

“They want us for our worth, not just because we can topple Barisan Nasional and Umno,” he said in his speech at the Penang PKR Convention 2017 here today.

Azmin reminded the party members that politics was not only about winning.

“If that is the case, then members will start fighting for power,” he added.

He also hinted that the party would still that want to work with Pas despite calls by the Islamist party members to sever ties between the two.

He said that all parties must work together for the betterment of the country.

“We must fight together, we cannot be separated and expect to fight with the same strength.

“Everyone must come together. We must serve the country well,” he said.

About 500 state PKR members attended the convention.

Also present were PKR President Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
