Pas' Hadi proposed as Sultan Muhammad V's advisor at Muktamar

ALOR STAR: Johor Pas delegate, Mohamad Nazari Mokhtar, has proposed that Pas President Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang be appointed as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V's advisor.

He said the new Agong is a blessing from Allah as he is a devout Muslim, and therefore deserves an advisor with similar traits.

Nazari said since the Agong is the country’s number one leader, an ulama of Hadi’s stature would be most suitable to take on the role of advisor.

"A person with Islamic character, a charitable person, who has strong faith, has been sent by Allah to lead Malaysia – and we pray that His Majesty has an advisor whose character is similar to his.

"His Majesty wears a robe to the mosque. Who do you think is best suited to be his advisor? An ulama is most suitable.

"Who is the number one leader? His majesty. So the most suitable advisor is our president, the second (most prominent) ulama leader in the world," Nazari said while debating the president's keynote speech at Pas' 63rd Muktamar held at Kompleks Pas Kedah here, today.

The former soldier added that as a political party, Pas does not only wish to capture Putrajaya, but also to advise the country’s ruler.

"As the president had said, we do not wish to go to Putrajaya, as much as we wish to be His Majesty's advisor," he added.
